On March 26, 2010, Earl John Kidder Jr, also known as “Bubba” left his residence at 614 Chickasaw Dr. in Opelousas. Mr. Kidder was supposed to be going camping at the Sherburne Wildlife Management area. He never returned home. Friends and relatives need your help in locating him. This week St. Landry Crime Stopper needs your helping solving a theft that happened near Opelousas. Someone went to Bargain Mobile Home Sales, located at 1556 Hwy 190 East and stole a pull type camper trailer. Stolen was a 2006 Jayco camper, described as black and white valued at $6,000. The camper was parked with two other campers. It is unknown exactly when the theft occurred and direction of travel. Serial numbers are on file. | | 6/23/2010 - Wanted Persons | St. Landry Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a counterfeit check cashing scheme. The St. Landy Parish Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance in locating the following individuals; Kirk Severin, Charles Collins, Jr., Robert Williams and Melvin Green. They have been identified as suspects in a current investigation involving a rash of counterfeit checks. The fraudulent checks have been cashed at local grocery stores in St. Landry Parish. As of June 22, 2010, the four suspects can be linked to at least six counterfeit checks totaling approximately four thousand, five hundred dollars ($4500.00). Recently stolen from Opelousas was a 2008 CIRCLE M 18 FOOT UTILITY TRAILER, LOUISIANA LICENSE L277007. VALUE APPROXIMATELY $3000. The trailer was located at 706 West Bellevue, OPELOUSAS, when stolen. St Landry Crime Stoppers will pay a reward for information that leads to an arrest in this matter.

| | 6/16/2010 - Burglary- Arnaudville, La. | Crime of the Week

This week St. Landry Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a burglary that happened near Arnaudville. On June 4, 2010, Deputies were dispatched to 397 Mushroom Rd, Arnaudville. Upon arrival it was discovered that someone had entered the residence, and ransacked the entire house. Entry was made through the front door. The water in the bathroom was left running causing extensive damage to the floors and walls. Once inside the thieves went through the residence stealing several items from the residence. Taken was a Hoyt Compound Bow, 22 caliber rifle, Remington 870, 12 gauge pump shotgun. A black muzzleloader, a 30/30Marlin rifle and 410 shotgun. Jewelry and a computer were also taken. This week St. Landry Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving theft of tools. On May 17, 2010, Deputies were dispatched to Louisiana Crane, located at 1045 Hwy 190 in Eunice. Upon arrival it was discovered that a 2008 Ford F450 welding truck had been stolen from the property. The truck had a black flat bed with a gray Lincoln welding machine on it. Equipment and tools on the truck valued at over $10,000. The truck was later recovered near Vinton, La. Apparently it had run out of fuel. The welding leeds and all the tools had been taken from the truck. On April 26, 2010, deputies with the St. Landry parish Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at 151 Kernis Huval Lane, Sunset. Upon arrival the owner of the residence stated someone gained entry through the rear door of the house. Stolen was a Remington 22 caliber rifle with a 4 power scope and a Rossi rifle with interchangeable barrels size 22 caliber, 243 caliber and 20 gauge. Serial number Braztec SP838627. This week St. Landry Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving a theft that happened near Lawtell. Sometime during the late hours of April 26, 2010 or early morning hours of April 27, 2010, someone went to 1257 Hwy 103 in Prairie Rhonde and broke into a shop where tools were kept. Taken was a delta drill press, router and table, a titan paint sprayer, several assorted hand tools and levels. Total value of the items exceeds $5000. The electricity to the shop has been disconnected at the utility pole by removing the fuses on the box.
